What was their service?
Outstanding dedication and abiding concern for others during the COVID-19 pandemic since February 2020. Hosted many charitable events to benefit local hospital workers with a particular attention given to the collection and distribution of personal protective equipment. Donated over 10,000 masks to Princeton Medical Center, Princeton First Aid & Rescue Squad, Englewood Hospital, JFK Medical Center, Police, Veterans Home, Senior Livings, Rehabilitation Centers, etc. Also gave away over 4,000 ICU-grade hospital gowns to physicians and anesthesiologists. Created heartfelt video, thank-you card, and paintings to honor and to express gratitude towards those on the frontlines of this harrowing struggle.
What motivated them to serve/volunteer?
Alliance of Youth Leaders in the United States is building the best student-run non-profit organization, dedicated to the advancement of our communities. It is to save a life while promoting the development of its members LEADERSHIP, INTEGRITY, and INNOVATION, through the planning and execution of volunteer projects that aim at benefiting their communities. Hosted over 40 Save a Life events, starting with a Benefit Musical Performance for a beloved teacher battling cancer, a Walk to End Alzheimer’s, Campaign for the Future to help Princeton First Aid & Rescue Squad, and followed by PPE donations to support healthcare professionals over the pandemic.
What did they achieve/how did they make a difference?
Since Feb 2020, AYLUS donated 5,000+ of N95 masks to NJ, NY, PA hospitals, including Princeton Medical Center, PFARS, Plainsboro Rescue Squad, Montgomery EMS, Hackensack Meridian Health, Englewood Hospital, Robert Wood Johnson Hospital, ARTIS Senior Living, Buckingham & Merwick Care and Rehabilitation Centers, Bridgeway Senior Healthcare, JFK Medical Center, Jersey City Medical Center, Princeton University, NYU, Cornell, Columbia Universities for their medical schools, and Mercy Medical Center in Long Island, New York.
AYLUS also provided 3,000+ of 3D Printed Face Shield Frame and Shields, 2,000+ N95 masks, and 5,000+ surgical masks to public officers, including State and local Police in Princeton, West Windsor, Plainsboro, Hamilton, Montgomery, and Bergen. Additional donations went to the US NRCS & Mercer County Soil Conservation, and Veterans Memorial Home.
AYLUS donated 4,000+ ICU-grade gowns to anesthesiologists & physicians in NY, NJ, and PA hospitals: Columbia, Cornell, New York University, Lenox Hill, Hackensack Meridian Medical Center, Princeton Medical Center, Robert Wood Johnson Hospital, Capital Health Hospitals, and Jersey Shore University Medical Center, etc. In addition, we collected gently used iPads for ICUs, so patients could stay connected with their families!
AYLUS created heartfelt videos, hundreds of thank-you card and Art Show Paintings at Princeton Medical Center to honor and to express gratitude towards those on the frontlines. Also donated hundreds of meals from the heart to the firefighters, police, and EMS. Holiday gifts to seniors, winter clothing drive, save the children and textbook donations, share a heart Valentine’s Day donations to local first responders.
